When SMP Group takes the spotlight at a premier retail industry event, they don’t just want to make an impression—they want to make a splash! Sponsoring the event’s chic networking hotspot, ‘The Champagne Bar,’ was their chance to mingle with loyal clients and woo new prospects. To kick things off with a pop, SMP needed a direct mail invitation that was as dazzling as their Gatsby-inspired bar.

The Task

Create a glamorous direct mail piece to invite both existing clients and new prospects to enjoy a glass of bubbly at ‘The Champagne Bar.’ The invitation had to reflect the elegance of the 1920s Great Gatsby era, grabbing attention and encouraging RSVPs with a compelling call-to-action. This mailer would be the first touchpoint, setting the tone for an unforgettable event.

The Work

We channeled the Roaring Twenties with a sophisticated black and gold design, capturing the opulence of the Gatsby era. The mailer featured a four-piece invitation, all neatly wrapped with a belly band and accompanied by two luxurious Charbonnel et Walker champagne truffles.

To make sure the excitement kept bubbling, one of the inserts included a QR code leading to a data capture campaign. Recipients could redeem a downloadable voucher for a complimentary glass of champagne, simply by submitting their details. This clever tactic allowed SMP Group to know exactly who planned to attend, paving the way for smooth and productive meetings.

The Result

The campaign was an resounding success! The sleek design and irresistible offer led to a fantastic response rate, with over 40% of recipients downloading their champagne vouchers.
